Full Stack web developer building great user experiences within the WordPress Block Editor as a Theme and Plugins developer @Melapress.
When I launched the revamped version of this blog nearly a year ago, my goal was simple: build a clean, lightweight home on the web to share code, tutorials, and thoughts on modern WordPress development, along with some writing for myself along the way. One aspect of running a blog in the current web landscape…
A few months ago, I wrote about relaunching this blog after a long period of silence. That post wasn’t really about a website. It was about getting back to building things because I genuinely enjoy building them. One of those things was Beyond FSE. At first, it was simply the theme powering this blog. It…

When WordCamp Belgrade 2026 was approaching on September 18th and 19th, I was fully set on attending both days. In fact, I bought an Early Bird ticket among the very first ones, fully planning to grab that t-shirt they had on offer! But as the dates got closer, a nasty virus caught up with me.…

When building export tools or data filters in PHP, setting up dropdown options usually feels routine: a list of standard codes for specific selections, and a wildcard string like ‘all’ to signal “export everything.” However, during a recent code review, a subtle architectural flaw stood out in a currency filtering trait – one that worked…

After pushing myself hard in my new role, synchronizing with the team, and absorbing all sorts of new things along the way, comparing myself to a battery running low might be a bit of a cliché, but a real vacation and disconnecting from everything was more than necessary. We love going to Greece for the…
In my previous post, we looked at how to move heavy third-party scripts from performance bottlenecks to background tasks using native WordPress script strategies and requestIdleCallback. Treating third-party scripts like guests who arrive only when the host is ready is a great baseline. But as web vitals shift their focus heavily toward user experience metrics…

The problem is that wp-login.php is not the only authentication entry point in WordPress. While investigating a series of brute-force attempts recently, I noticed something interesting. Every login attempt…

Looking at the calendar, it’s been almost nine years since I last attended a local WordPress event (WordCamp Belgrade back in 2017). Between diving into projects, daily work, and life in general, I somehow fell completely out of the habit of attending meetups, or maybe never had that habit at all. 🙄 But this past…
These are my thoughts and impressions from my recent trip to Malta to meet the entire team and spend some time together. Preparation For this trip, I purchased my ticket among the first ones, and probably got the cheapest option out there, with Wizz Air which offers regular flights from Serbia to Malta. With that…
Building a fast WordPress site is often a game of many small wins: especially when it comes to third party scripts. We all love the functionality that a live chat brings to our users: but we often hate what it does to our PageSpeed scores. After more than a decade of building on this platform:…

You might remember my previous post about restarting my blog and launching the WordPress FSE theme, Beyond FSE. I mentioned then that I’d likely continue to improve it whenever I found the time. Well, at that time, the mobile performance lab metrics were at 97, while accessibility and SEO were also just below 100. It…
I never thought about it too deeply before, but when you really look at it, the choice actually depends on the type of content you are serving to your visitors. If your content is engaging and you have returning visitors, they probably want some control. They want to be able to tap on a specific…
